SKELETON COAST
by John H Marsh
Our first full-day expedition from Sarusus took us in the two Land-Rovers northward.
The country was by no means featureless and one of the many surprises was the discovery
that desert sand is not always brown or white. It can be red, blue, orange, purple and every shade between, even black.
And sometimes you can see the whole range of colours, all quite sharply defined, all at the same time.
